Welcome,

Thanks for stopping by! Let me introduce myself...My name is Megan Evans.  I write for the hurried heart who struggles to be still before the Lord.

I know the space of a busy heart well.  I know first hand the challenges of a heart whose prone to run at the speed of the world around it.  I've lived out seasons promising God that he was next on my list.  One day after crumbling under the weight of everything I thought the world needed me to be, I cried out to God.  "I can't be all of these things.  Who am I Lord?  Who do you want me to be?" His answer was simple, "you are mine." (Isaiah 43:1)

An unhurried heart is more than paused physical activity, even the bed-bound can still have a busy heart.  Step number one of an unhurried heart is to daily recognize that being a Child of God is our greatest calling & legacy (not superwoman, supermom, or super-whatever else). Step number two is to daily match our pace to the feet of Jesus so we can live life aware of God's presence and to grow in His grace and truth.  Step number three is to daily enjoy an interactive relationship with God as he shapes, molds, & leads us to be more like Jesus.

More than just a ticket to heaven,  Christianity is a daily interactive relationship with God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Jesus led us confidently into into the presence of God and invites us to dwell there in all circumstances. What an incredible gift that is to live life WITH God, yet we race past in complacency and lacking awe.  We dwell instead in our schedules and our head and heart spins with distraction.  Do you hear the call to unhurry your heart today?

I fluently speak the language of a busy heart, yet leaning into Jesus taught me his.  Through years of serving in women's ministry and through my own personal experience I have learned how to translate God's call for women everywhere to unhurry their heart.

I dedicate this blog to my earthly father whose favorite verse was Psalm 46:10.  He bought me my first NIV Study Bible in 1994.  Dad was a thinker and a great listener.   He taught me to do the same.  Combining the study of God's Word and learning how to be still and listen, my passion for writing emerged over the years.  I write from what I learn along the way.  I share my writing with you the reader in the hope it will encourage, challenge, and help you deepen your walk with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Dad has now "run into the arms of Jesus," and I look forward to the day when I can do the same.  I seek to live the rest of my days growing in sweet friendship with Jesus, making memories, and even enjoying an inside joke or two with Him.  I want to learn as much as I possibly can about following Jesus Christ, the One I have given my heart to and am learning to follow daily!

I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ many years ago.  I am a wife, mother, and friend, but I am most honored to be called a Child of God. Every day is a gift and I am learning to be still and listen to God's voice so that a single day is not wasted. The greatest plan we can have is total surrender!

Welcome
